Scottish Financial Services Professionals Emerging From The GloomWith job opportunities increasing after a tough 2009, many financial services recruiters are now faced with the challenge of convincing candidates to make the move from the security of their current position to bigger and better things. Bright Purple's Mike Leeman, head of Financial Services Recruitment, was asked recently to comment on the issue of finding candidates to fill the increased volume of Financial Services roles by eFinancial Careers Scotland. In his response, Mike noted that, while things are definitely moving again in the financial sector in Scotland, new opportunities in the banking sector tend to lie in the areas of risk and compliance as a result of recession driver regulatory reforms. Focusing on this area, Mike pointed out that candidates are now in a relatively privelaged position "The biggest issue we're facing is the speed of response from clients," he says. "Candidates often have multiple job offers, but some firms still think they can wait two or three weeks before making an offer. This may have been the case last year, but it's no longer possible to stall for so long."
